10 Actors Who Just Gave Their Worst Ever Movie Performances

5. Charlie Plummer - Moonfall

Moonfall Charlie Plummer
Lionsgate

Look, nobody was ever going to deliver Oscar-worthy work in Moonfall, but among the squandered ensemble is an especially maddening performance from up-and-comer Charlie Plummer.

Plummer, who previously wowed in All the Money in the World and Lean on Pete, seems completely lost in the role of Brian's (Patrick Wilson) troubled son Sonny.

Now, it doesn't help that Sonny is one of Moonfall's more perfunctory, unnecessary characters, and his subplot largely feels like a waste of time, but even so, Plummer looks totally checked-out throughout this thing.

There's a glazed-over quality to his eyes in basically every single scene, of a disengaged actor literally thinking about anything else while going through the motions to complete their contractual duties.

While you can't really blame an actor of Plummer's obvious talents for struggling to disguise his lack of enthusiasm in such a blatant paycheck role, the 23-year-old carries himself here with all the cynical, weary tiredness of an actor several times older than himself.

Akin to a Liam Neeson or Mickey Rourke, even.
