10 Actors Who Need To Go Away For A While
3. Adam Sandler
Few famous actors have squandered their talent as aggressively as Adam Sandler, especially in recent years.
Though he'll appear in a Paul Thomas Anderson, Judd Apatow or Noah Baumbach movie every six or seven years, he appears mostly content starring in barrel-scraping "comedies" that are effectively elaborate excuses for he and his pals to get paid to go on vacation and occasionally act.
With Sandler currently mid-way through his eight-picture deal with Netflix, his films have never been more accessible to everyone, and though he won't be begging for your hard-earned movie ticket bucks any time soon, his presence on the streaming platform is both infuriating and depressing.
Sandler's Netflix deal should keep him busy for the next 2-3 years, though he will at least be appearing in the Safdie brothers' (Good Time) new movie Uncut Gems, so that's something to look forward to.
It'll be back to cynical usual afterwards, though, and his suffering fans will probably be left waiting until the mid-2020s for another Sandler home-run. He doesn't even look happy making these lame-brained comedies, and with a net worth of $300+ million, how can he possibly need any more money?
