10 Actors Who Openly Hated Working With Their Directors
5. George Clooney Vs. David O. Russell - Three Kings
Three Kings was a controversial movie to say the least and it's probably the only film ever made where executive meddling stemmed in part from the legitimate fear of terrorist backlash. Executives demanded a smaller budget, a shorter shoot, and somehow less violence and more action at the same time.
This rubbed David O. Russell the wrong way, to put it mildly, and he took his frustrations out on cast and crew. This, in turn, pissed off the famously chilled actor/humanitarian George Clooney.
Things came to a head when Russell assaulted an extra, allegedly to show the actors how he wanted the scene to go. Clooney intervened, and the two got into a physical fight that resulted in Clooney choking Russell with his bare hands, once and for all proving that everyone has their breaking point.
