10 Actors Who Really Don't Belong In Upcoming Movies
7. Paul Giamatti - Straight Outta Compton
Who's the last person you'd expect to find in a movie called Straight Outta Compton? If you said "Paul Giamatti," ding-ding-ding! That's the correct answer! Paul Giamatti likes to take on a crazy job now and again, but rarely does he feels as out of place in a motion picture as he does here, playing real life human being and producing legend Jerry Heller. Directed by F. Gary Gray, Straight Outta Compton chronicles the true story of the rise of Los Angeles hip hop group N.W.A., which made stars of now famous rappers such as Dr. Dre and Ice Cube in their earlier years. Heller, Giamatti's character, was their manager, but can you believe said actor as a man who - like Heller - loves hip-hop? Not likely. Look at how ridiculous he looks in this movie. You have to admire Paul Giamatti for throwing caution to wind and taking on a role like this, but - going by the trailer, at least - he doesn't ring true as a Jerry Heller-type at all. With somebody like Giamatti, you get the sense that he's never listened to a rap record in his life. Sorry, Paul (have you, though?).
