10 Actors Who Should Play The Joker In Suicide Squad
5. Michael Pitt
Michael Pitt is an actor that has been delivering strong performances in both film and television for years, yet has still managed to stay largely under the radar. Generally staying away from big-budget features (bar an uncredited cameo in Martin Scorsese's Hugo) in an effort to build up an eclectic body of work, the actor is quickly establishing a reputation as an up-and-coming talent to keep an eye on, and his recent television credits on Boardwalk Empire and Hannibal have given rise to the notion that the 33 year-old could potentially deliver a fantastic take on the Joker. The comparisons between Pitt's Mason Verger in Hannibal and Heath Ledger's take on the Joker have been frequent, not to mention complimentary, with the actor's off-kilter mannerisms and unsettling line delivery creating a charismatic and dangerous psychopath, traits often associated with the Clown Prince of Crime. While there is the danger that his take on the character would stray too close to Heath Ledger's iconic work in the Dark Knight, Pitt is a more than capable actor that could rely heavily on his piercing eyes, thousand-yard stare and body language to create an intimidating version of the Joker that negates his boyish looks and lack of a physical threat.
I don't do social media, so like or follow me in person but please maintain a safe distance or the authorities will be notified. Don't snap me though, I'll probably break. I was once labelled a misogynist on this very site in a twenty paragraph-long rant for daring to speak ill of the Twilight franchise. I stand by what I said, it's crap.
