10 Actors Who Should Star in Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them

1. Eddie Redmayne

Over the past few years, Eddie Redmayne has exploded in popularity. He starred alongside Oscar-nominated Michelle Williams in My Week With Marilyn, played Marius in the well-received film adaptation of the tremendously popular musical Les Miserables, and has been generating Oscar buzz of his own for his physically and emotionally demanding performance as Stephen Hawking in The Theory Of Everything. He's a star on the rise, and there are big things ahead of him. He's sort of been following the Benedict Cumberbatch model for success. Getting attention and establishing himself as an actor in small but significant roles, then starring in well-received independent films before graduating to mainstream dramatic roles (that's what we're seeing now). Only then, when the average moviegoer knows his name and is aware of his abilities, can he do the major franchise blockbusters. Redmayne has done all of the other things, so now it seems like it would be beneficial to his career to work on something high profile on a global scale (just as Benedict Cumberbatch got involved in huge projects like Star Trek and The Hobbit). But most of all, Eddie Redmayne is a really talented actor, one who comes across as intelligent and striking. It's easy to imagine him as a curious wizard traipsing around the world. Who would you like to see play Newt Scamander? One of these ten, or someone who's been ignored? Have your say down in the comments.
