Jennifer Lawrence performed a lot of her own stunts in the filming of survival sci-fi series The Hunger Games and had a few battle scars to show.

Not only did she suffer from punctured eardrums, but she was also attacked by monkeys (oh to see those outtakes) and suffered trench foot from prolonged exposure to damp conditions.

Despite the physical demands of The Hunger Games films, her most stomach-churning injury came from the set of the horror film Mother and not in the deadly forests of The Capitol.

The 2017 horror film Mother (which has one of the most gruesome endings to a film of all time) stars Lawrence alongside Javier Bardem and is directed by psychological horror visionary - Darren Aronofsky. Apparently, the director filming process was so intense that Lawrence needed a "happy place" on set which was filled of sweets and had clips of Keeping Up With The Kardashians playing on a loop.

During a pivotal scene in the film, Lawrence managed to dislocate a rib and injure her diaphragm from hyperventilating too intensely. The damage was so severe that Lawrence had to have oxygen plugs in her nose to make it through the scene.

I see my role at WhatCulture the same way my wife sees my role as a lover: I contribute in a very small way, my presence is barely noticeable and I’m not entirely sure if the laughter is at me or with me.
