Despite appearing in almost every Fast and Furious film since the franchise started in 2001, Michelle Rodriguez almost quit before the first film saw the light of day.

Rodriguez was incredibly vocal about her disapproval of her character Letty's original proposed arc in the first film, as she was originally supposed to cheat on her "alpha" partner Don with a "cute boy".

Rodriguez begged the production not to sue her and made it clear she would quit if her character wasn't changed, exclaiming: "the whole point in being an actress is that I thought I got to live a dream. And I don't dream about being a slut!"

In her earlier work, Rodriguez had always worked out her differences over a script with the crew through discussion, but after finding that it didn't always work like that in major Hollywood films, threatened to walk instead.

It was only after she was reassured by Vin Diesel that he would sort out the plot issues that she stayed on the production, and the storyline was changed. Rodriguez is set to reprise her role for the seventh time in 2020's tenth instalment.
