10 Actors With Game-Changing Movie Roles Coming Up

9. Ana De Armas - Ballerina

Ana de Armas' remarkable rise is a testament to her application and commitment to her roles, and with the Cuban actress having moved to the States unable to speak a word of English in the past, she has more than earned her fair share of admiration and plaudits. Ana's real breakthrough amongst mainstream audiences as Blade Runner 2049's Joi sparked a flurry of life-changing roles to follow, the most notable names being Knives Out and the more recent Blonde for Netflix.

Both highlight de Armas' journey from supporting cast to lead actress, and showcase her fierce and formidable on-screen presence. However, the 34-year-old seems to have found her calling for action, and with great success. The Gray Man exhibited her natural acclimatisation for the physicality needed, but the film was merely passed the baton by No Time to Die. Daniel Craig's final 007 outing introduced Ana's Paloma as an accomplice to him and proved a more than useful counterpart.

Her role was brief, but her participation left a lasting impression, and discussions regarding a Paloma-focused, spin-off were rumoured. Though going cold, the ever-expanding John Wick universe came a-calling to her instead and the actress has landed her own franchise. Titled Ballerina and set to feature Keanu Reeves reprising his Wick role, the story is your typical run-of-the-mill revenge tale we have become accustomed to, but one we can't wait to see nonetheless.
