10 Actors You Had No Idea Produced Awesome Movies
2. Danny Devito - Pulp Fiction
The story of Danny DeVito and Pulp Fiction is one of simplicity and passion. Quentin Tarantino was fresh off of Reservoir Dogs looking to sell his next movie idea to the right buyer. He met with Stacey Sher, a producer who's only credits at the time were Heartbreak Hotel and The Fisher King. The latter of those two was a critically successful movie starring Jeff Bridges and Robin Williams. Sher would introduce Tarantino to her producing partner: Danny DeVito.
After a short conversation, DeVito was sold on Tarantino and told him he would make a deal for his next movie. DeVito didn't even know what the movie would be, only that the man behind it was a passionate movie-maker who lived and breathed cinema.
That unknown movie would become Pulp Fiction. Tarantino sent the script to DeVito who, upon reading it instantly fell in love. He took it directly to Miramax, one of the larger indie movie studios at the time. The rest, as they say, is history.
