10 Actors You Probably Forgot Were In Sci-Fi Movies

7. Lee Evans - The Fifth Element (1997)

One of Britain’s most popular stand-up comedians, Lee Evans is no stranger to the spotlight.

He’s also something of an established actor, having appeared in everything from Mouse Hunt to There’s Something About Mary.

However, it’s fair to say that Evans’s film work has largely been restricted to comedic fare, which makes perfect sense given his obvious talents in that department.

So, it was something of a surprise to see him pop up in Luc Besson’s wildly creative sci-fi epic The Fifth Element. Arguably the pinnacle of the French filmmaker’s time in Hollywood, this story about an unwitting cab driver living in the 23rd century who ends up entangled in the search for a cosmic weapon is beloved by many.

Boasting striking visuals and some sublime action set pieces, it’s also a film packed full of memorable turns with Chris Tucker’s deliberately annoying but nevertheless brilliant Ruby Rhod a particular favourite.

Few expected to see Evans turn up though as Fog, the captain of the luxury space cruiser that comes under fire from alien warriors seeking out Bruce Willis’ Korben Dallas. An appearance well worth revisiting.
