10 Amazing Horror Movies That Almost Never Got Made
2. The Omen (1976)
This list talked earlier about the nightmare production that was The Exorcist, but if you want to yap about cursed movies, then boy, howdy, you can't skip The Omen. Hell, this film was so cursed that even reading about it might put you in danger. Good luck.
Where to even begin with this one? The Omen - a classic still freaking people out to this day - was plagued by on and off-set incidents that were weird and frequent enough to feel far from coincidental.
For example, there were four instances of lightning strikes (via Collider) that targeted the cast and crew, with three happening on planes and one nearly striking producer Harvey Bernhard directly. Speaking of planes, lead actor Gregory Peck also narrowly avoided a gruesome end after a delay in filming kept him off a plane that crashed the next day. On top of this comes the worst incident of them all, after Liz Moore, assistant to John Richardson, a special effects designer, was decapitated in a car crash, mirroring the horrifying demise of the character Keith Jennings.
Putting this movie together seemed to incur the wrath of something otherworldly, and it's a miracle the film was finished at all.
