2. Coherence

For a film literally titled ‘Coherence’, it has to be said that at times it can get pretty confusing.

This twisted tale tracks the story of eight friends who gather for a dinner party, completely naive to the strange direction their night is about to take.

After a power-cut occurs, the friends decide to venture to a house down the street to check if they’re also having the same electricity problems. Usually when you pop in on a neighbour unexpectedly, you don’t foresee finding out that their house is a mirrored copy of your own: complete with dinner-table settings for eight and all.

For each of the main characters, there also exists an alternate. An alternate person, alternate house, alternate life story, et cetera. So you can see where this gets a bit hard to follow, right?

If you set aside the complexity of things and really focus, the film promises an entrancing story of mixed-up memories and interlinking timelines - all with a bit of murder thrown in there too. What more could you want?
