10 Amazing Sci-Fi Movies You Need To Stop Sleeping On
8. I Think We're Alone Now
Starring Game of Thrones' very own Peter Dinklage, I Think We're Alone Now is the kind of sci-fi film that works wonders because it's such a big idea diluted down to the simplest interactions. After the human race has been wiped out by a deadly virus, Del (Dinklage) lives a solitary and deeply methodical life. His peace is threatened, however, when another survivor (Elle Fanning) comes across his isolated existence and hopes to stay with him.
Though he does not fully trust her, Del resolves to train her in his ways of living, and tries to deal with her erratic and hyper behaviour.
I Think We're Alone Now is a journey into one man's trauma during the end of the world, and features two great performances from Dinklage and Fanning. It sports some moving scenes courtesy of Handmaid's Tale director Reed Morano, and the emotional investment of Del and Grace's rocky relationship pays off in spades with every scene they have together.
A small but big-hearted drama, ITWAN slipped under the radar upon its 2018 release - but is certainly waiting for a new audience to dig it back up.
