10 Ant-Man Trailer Easter Eggs You Might Have Missed
6. The Shower Scene
Heroes come in all sizes appears to be the log-line Marvel are marketing Ant-Man on, and it's a sentiment that certainly applies to this trailer, and possibly the film as a whole. Superhero films are big on spectacle, but the whole point of Ant-Man is that he's, well, small. He shrinks. And so the action in this trailer though exciting is on a decidedly smaller scale than, say, Guardians Of The Galaxy. Quite the opposite, in fact. That's highlighted best in this teaser by the scene where Paul Rudd tests his shrinking abilities, possibly for the first time, whilst standing in a grubby shower. Just pointing out how different this is from the other MCU releases so far? Quite possibly. Or the filmmakers could be doing a sly little nod to the third Ant-Man, Eric O'Grady, who replaced Scott for a bit and was decidedly less honourable. Star of the series Irredeemable Ant-Man (written by Walking Dead creator Robert Kirkman), O'Grady was a low-level SHIELD agent who stole Hank Pym's original suit and...well, he didn't really use it very heroically. Certainly not very superheroically. Tony Stark is fuelled by guilt, Peter Parker by realising his great power means great responsibility O'Grady used his powers to be a perv. Like shirking down and sneaking it a women's shower, for example...
