Macabre is a 2009 horror/slasher film originating from Indonesia, written and directed by the Mo Brothers. Shareefa Danish, Imelda Therinne and Ruli Lubis star in this 85-minute offering, and the film is bursting full of gore and violence. However, if you can handle blood and guts in droves, then this Asian feature is for you...

The film focuses on a group of friends who kindly offer to give a stranger a ride back home in the middle of the night. This stranger - a young woman - invites the group in to meet her family. She wants to thank them for their help and offers them something to eat. Uncertain but not wanting to seem rude, the friends accept the invitation to enter the house, and from there the true horror begins.

Macabre is extremely sadistic, gory and violent, but that aside, it is a truly well cast film, with a solid story and a few unexpected twists along the way. It's worth a watch if you don't mind a bit of blood, and certainly ranks as one of the best films on this list.
