10 Avengers: Age Of Ultron Surprises That Could Happen
4. Hank Pym's Work Sets Up Ultron
Longtime Avengers fans were a little bummed to learn the news that Ultron would be created by Tony Stark and not Hank Pym, as he was in the comics. Many of us hoped for a link between Age of Ultron and the upcoming Ant-Man movie, perhaps even introducing the character in the Avengers sequel. But there may still be a chance that Hank Pym is involved. The official synopsis for Age of Ultron says that Tony tries to jumpstart a dormant peacekeeping program. That seems to suggest the groundwork for Ultron has already been laid, perhaps by Tonys father, Howard Stark. We also know that Michael Douglas will be playing an older version of Hank Pym in Ant-Man, who created the technology in the sixties. Plus John Slattery, who played Howard Stark in Iron Man 2, will reprise his role in Ant-Man. So it looks like Howard and Hank interacted together in the past, and they could have possibly collaborated on this dormant peacekeeping program. Thats why we expect one of the surprises will be the revelation that Tonys basis for Ultron comes from an aborted project begun by Hank Pym, perhaps either with Howard directly collaborating with him or simply financing him.
