10 Awesome Movie Villains That Had Totally Lame Deaths
8. Boba Fett - Return Of The Jedi
The Mandalorian season two isn't out yet and as far as canon goes, Boba Fett is still very much dead, despite the Expanded Universe novels having him crawling from the Sarlacc Pit aided by Dengar more than two decades ago. This parrot, however, is not resting, he's dead, for now.
Introduced very briefly and very bizarrely in the now legendary Star Wars Holiday Special, Boba Fett got his first live action appearance when he was hired by Vader to track down the Millennium Falcon and deliver Han Solo into the hands of the Empire. Whether it was his faceless, monocular helmet or his steely demeanour, Boba Fett drew a legion of fans almost instantly.
Written as a polar opposite and personal nemesis of Solo, Fett was an instant hit, attractive to all Star Wars fans irrespective of age or gender. His fame, however, would outlast his life by a long way. The victim of an accidental whack from Solo with a long barrelled rifle, Fett's backpack propelled him into the waiting maw of the Sarlacc in the first act of Return Of The Jedi.
George Lucas would go on to say that if he'd known what a hit the character would be, he would've given him a proper send off. With nothing but an impressive belch for a requiem, Fett fans globally uttered in perfect unison "What f*ck was that?" Since then, it's been nearly forty years of retcons, so expect the latest Fett action sometime this Autumn, in the States at least.
