10 Awesome Recent Movies That Must Never Get Sequels

5. Baby Driver

This may be an unpopular opinion, but Edgar Wright's riotously entertaining musical-actioner would be better served as a single, flash-in-the-pan genre outing.

As awesome as the musical selections, the performances, Wright's stupendous direction and the jaw-dropping editing are, one suspects the first movie's easy charm would suffer from diminishing returns the second time around.

Plus, Wright's such a ludicrously talented filmmaker that it'd be great to see him working on another unique project rather than chasing a fat sequel paycheck.

Will It Happen?: Baby Driver grossed an impressive $226.9 million against a $34 million budget, so there's clearly pressure on Wright to make a sequel.

Wright has expressed interest, adding that he's going to at least attempt to write it at some point and see where it goes. That's certainly not a concrete confirmation by any means, and Wright seems to have enough integrity to walk away from a huge payday if the Ant-Man debacle is any indication.

The gut feeling is that it won't happen. Perhaps a spin-off within the same world could materialise one day, but we probably won't be seeing these characters again.
