10 Awesome Star Wars Characters Only In One Scene

9. Labria - A New Hope

Labria - or Kardue'sai'Malloc, to give him his full formal name - is only shown in one brief scanning shot during the first Star Wars movie.

These days known as A New Hope, George Lucas' 1977 picture was all about establishing a tale of heroes and villains up in the stars. And one brilliant way that Lucas set the tone and style for Star Wars, was in how he utilised the location of Mos Eisley.

Depicted as a "wretched hive of scum and villainy", Mos Eisley was the sort of place that a young Jedi-in-waiting could find themselves biting off more than they could chew. But not just that, for Mos Eisley served as the perfect introduction to the sorts of creatures and characters awaiting audiences in this movie and the subsequent films that ended up following Star Wars: A New Hope.

In that regard, nobody set the tone better than the sinister devil-looking figure named Labria. With a mischievous glint of bad intentions in his eyes, all it took was one glance at Kardue'sai'Malloc to make the viewer aware that they really weren't in Kansas anymore - making this character massively impactful and important at least on a first viewing of Lucas' 77 game-changer.

Elsewhere, the expanded universe material of Star Wars has showcased how Labria is a thorough bastard of the highest order. Dubbed the Butcher of Montellian Serat, he was labelled a war criminal and went into hiding on Mos Eisley - where he'd eventually be apprehended by a certain Boba Fett.
