10 Awesome Superhero Film Moments For When Marvel Owns Everything

8. Doomquest

This two-part 1981 storyline by David Michelinie and Bob Layton works so well, it is a wonder that nobody ever thought of pairing Iron Man and Doctor Doom years earlier. Despite his long-time connection to the Fantastic Four (making him a Fox property), Doom proves to be an excellent counterpart for Tony Stark/Iron Man (owned by Marvel). Both feature vast wealth, power armour and engineering skill, and the two characters are also two of Marvel€™s most definitive €œalpha€ males. Beyond the fact that the two characters work so well with each other, €œDoomquest€ is also an extraordinarily fun read complete with great action sequences and time travel back to the days of King Arthur and Morgan le Fay €“ all of which would translate marvellously to the big screen. Iron Man ends up leading the King Arthur€™s forces against Doom and Le Fay€™s black magic, defeating the two villains and forcing Morgan to flee to another dimension. In a final bit of delicious irony, Iron Man and Doctor Doom have to put aside their differences in order to return back to the present day. Visually, the movie would likely feature the grand, fantasy-fuelled setpieces of Lord of the Rings, with Marvel's comic book sensibilities. And who doesn't see the comedic potential of Robert Downey Jr.'s Tony Stark interacting with a cast of Medieval characters?
