10 Awesome Things Actors Have Done While In Costume

4. Sean Bean Hiking Up A Mountain Dressed As Boromir

Did you know that the odds of dying in a flying accident are 1 in 7,178 for a lifetime? It is statistically more safe to fly than it is to drive; with more than five million automobile accidents compared to twenty flying accidents. All the data confirms air travel to be safer than driving a car. Nevertheless, this doesn't stop people from having a potent fear of aviation, in particular, internet meme extraordinaire Sean Bean. Bean, whose most prominent role was as Boromir in Peter Jackson€™s The Lord of the Rings trilogy, has a fear of flying which caused him difficulties while filming in the mountains in New Zealand, where the trilogy was shot. After a particularly rough ride, he vowed not to fly to a location again; in one instance, he chose to take a ski lift into the mountains while wearing his full costume (complete with shield, armor, and sword) and then hiked the final few miles. One does not simply do such a thing, unless you're Sean Bean.
