10 Awful 2015 Movies That Deserved To Bomb At The Box Office

7. Point Break

Budget: $105 million Box Office: $98.7 million (94%) The original Point Break cost just $24 million back in 1991 and made $83.5 million worldwide, but Warner Bros. learned the hard way that remaking a movie with a four-fold budget doesn't necessarily pay off dividends. The consensus among those who've seen the 2015 update of Kathryn Bigelow's classic Keanu Reeves-Patrick Swayze actioner is... why? Yes, some of the action is decent enough, but placing Luke Bracey and Edgar Ramirez at the forefront of a $100+ million movie is pretty much inviting a box office disaster even were the movie actually worth watching. Sadly the whole extreme sports focus feels like it might've been a whole lot more successful 10-15 years ago, and instead the film plays like an odd relic, unsure of what it really wants to be. It takes itself far too seriously and as such denies the fun time that made the original the cult hit it is today. Sometimes remakes prove us wrong, but not this time, and not at this price point.
