New Zealand filmmaker Taika Waititi and Flight Of The Conchords co-founder Jemaine Clement’s comedy horror mockumentary What We Do in the Shadows about a clan of centuries-old vampires living in modern-day Wellington was the sleeper hit of 2015, charming critics and making a healthy $6.9 million profit on its $1.6 million production budget.

During an interview at this year’s Sundance Film Festival, Waititi confirmed he and Clement are conjuring up story ideas for a sequel and have given the film a punny title, We’re Wolves (get it? Werewolves!), which suggests the planned spin-off will focus on the first film’s werewolf pack led by Rhys Darby, also of Flight of the Conchords fame.

Considering Waititi has the third big budget instalment of the Thor series, Thor: Ragnarok, to film first a 2017 release for the sequel spin-off might be optimistic, but here’s hoping we see some werewolves (not swear-wolves) hitting our screens soon.
