4. "Angela" Is Really Peter - Sleepaway Camp

Sleepaway Camp, man.

This infamous cult classic slasher flick takes many pages out of Friday the 13th's book, similarly following a group of youths who are picked off by an unknown murderous maniac at a summer camp.

The ending not only reveals that the killer was sweet, unassuming Angela (Felissa Rose) all along, but that Angela was actually born a male named Peter and forcibly raised as a girl by her deranged Aunt Martha (Desiree Gould), following the real Angela's death in a speedboat accident years prior.

Survivors Ronnie (Paul DeAngelo) and Susie (Susan Glaze) certainly get their minds blown when they find a nude Angela at the shore, who drops Paul's (Christopher Collet) severed head and turns around to show their penis.

While it's a film that invites fierce debate in our more enlightened, inclusive present, on its own terms it makes for a truly flabbergasting plot twist that leaves the remaining characters literally agape as the film abruptly ends.
