1. Logan - The Limo Escape

And finally, Logan's limousine escape sequence combines brutality, gritty direction and well-drawn characters into a pulse-pounding whole, making it the year's best set-piece to date.

Things get ugly when Donald Pierce arrives at Logan's hideout in search of young Laura, who promptly decapitates UFC fighter Krzysztof Soszynski and throws his head at Pierce's feet, before slashing away at any of Pierce's cronies who attempt to engage her.

When Pierce then attempts to take custody of her, Logan makes the save, slaughtering a fleet of Pierce's goons before escaping in his limo with both Laura and Charles Xavier. Pierce's men continue to pursue, but with the help of a barbed wire fence and an oncoming train, the trio just barely escapes.

It's an ugly, messy, ultra-violent, superbly acted and gorgeously shot scene. It is everything fans wanted when an R-rated Wolverine movie was first announced.
