While it failed to match the critical and commercial success of its predecessor, Avengers: Age of Ultron still provided a hugely satisfying experience for fans of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Joss Whedon has been vocal about how frustrating he found the process of creating such a highly-anticipated sequel under studio pressure, and on watching the final product it is obvious that a lot of material ended up on the cutting room floor. One area where Age of Ultron did improve upon the first Avengers outing is in the action department, with the highlight being the epic dust-off between 'Science Bros' Bruce Banner and Tony Stark. Under the influence of the Scarlet Witch's powers, the Hulk goes on the rampage through a heavily-populated area, forcing Iron Man to call in his Hulkbuster armor and take on 'the other guy'. One of the focal points of the movie's marketing, the showdown didn't disappoint as the two members of Earth's Mightiest Heroes batter lumps out of each other, causing a huge amount of property damage in the process. One of the most crowd-pleasing scenes of blockbuster season, and as you would expect from Whedon's work the hard-hitting action is punctuated by more than a few gags right up until the moment Iron Man destroys an entire building to in an attempt to keep the Hulk down for the count.
