10 Best Ever Movie Bartenders

8. Wuher - Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope

Eric Stoltz in Kicking and Screaming

When Star Wars was first released in 1977, the Mos Eisley Cantina scene was considered the high bar of imagination, loaded with alien creature design both varied and inventive. Even after George Lucas re-released the films with CGI upgrades, the scene still plays well with only a few touch-ups and Greedo shooting first.

Before the franchise had cult-like zealots following it, we didn't even know Wuher's name. He was just the bartender. But ponder, if you will, the kind of crap Wuher puts up with on a daily shift. He has to be multi-lingual in alien dialect, probably aware of certain social faux pas among some species, and given their biology, the clean-up after a gang fight, a Greedo-killing or just using the facilities must be a complicated process.
