10 Best Ever Movie Bartenders
4. Dwayne - Forgetting Sarah Marshall
Of the films released under the Judd Apatow-produced troupe, Forgetting Sarah Marshall is easily the tightest. It doesn't run over two hours - something indulgent for a simple romantic comedy to even attempt - and Jason Segel's script is some of the sharpest satire of the TV industry in recent years.
Moreover, every character gets a chance to be human. Rarely in romantic comedies do the exes get the opportunity to display vulnerability - they're usually underwritten or one-note figures there to spurn on our protagonists. Here, entire scenes are devoted to Sarah Marshall (Kristen Bell) terrified for her career and uncertain of her romantic choices.
And then there's Dwayne, the Hawaiin resort's bartender. Nevermind that he's played by the always lovable Craig Robinson, he's the kind of bartender that keeps an ear open. So when Segel's dumped musician comes to drown his sorrows, Dwayne is already well aware of his romantic situation.
He'll also stand up for you if he's in your corner. He does so for Jason Segel after he sort-of cheats on his new love interest; it is, in fact, his pep talk that convinces Mila Kunis to give him another shot.
It also helps that he's a whiz at trivia, capable of naming 200 different kinds of fish.
