10 Best Horror Movie Musicals To Watch This Halloween 2020
5. Little Shop Of Horrors (1986)
There's something remarkable about how Little Shop Of Horrors is able to weave together a pop soundtrack with such a surprisingly grusome storyline. Listening to the beat of the songs gives a sense of upliftment but combine that with the lyrics, and you've got something incredibly gorey.
The plot is about a failing floristry with two miserable staff members, Seymour and Audrey, who long for a nicer, more quaint suburban life away from the rough city. They are totally in love with each other, but just don't realise it yet. Their lives are about to be turned upside down when Seymour brings in a distinctive looking plant. It brings in the business but has a horrifc secret of feeding off human blood.
With an evergrowing man-eating plant, a malicious dentist and an abusive shop owner, Little Shop of Horrors is not afraid to verge into darker materials. Thankfully, it's all balanced out by some well-written comedy, fantastic music and excellent surprise cameos, including John Candy and Bill Murray.
