7. Hospital (The Dark Knight)

If there's one job that the Joker should not apply for, it's that of a doctor. Saving lives isn't his forte - he's more about ruining them. This in mind, the hospital scene from Christopher Nolan's The Dark Knight possesses a coating of beautiful irony.

The Joker, ginger wig and all, manages to infiltrate the hospital room housing District Attorney Harvey Dent - now Two-Face. After messing with Harvey's mind and setting him on that murderous rampage, the Joker gleefully whips out a detonator, like a child on Christmas morning, and proceeds to blow the hospital to ash.

This is a scene that, like the rooftop rescue in Suicide Squad, manages to do a lot with a single costume. The Joker is making a mockery of law, order and safety - everything that the people who usually wear this clothing stand for. He is a true agent of chaos.

The scene is capped off brilliantly with Ledger frantically pressing buttons on the detonator, in a supposedly unscripted moment when the explosions failed to go off. It's comedy gold, and he's literally killing poeple.

Danny has been with WhatCulture for almost nine years, and is currently Doctor Who Editor and WhoCulture Channel Manager, overseeing all of WhatCulture's Whoniverse coverage. He has been writing and video editing for 10+ years, and first got a taste for content creation after making his own Doctor Who trailers and uploading them to YouTube (they're admittedly a bit rusty by today's standards). If you need someone to recite every Doctor Who episode in order or to tell you about the making of 1988's Remembrance of the Daleks, Danny is the person to ask.
