10 Best Marvel Cinematic Universe Deleted Scenes

9. Bruce Banner's Suicide Attempt

Ask any Marvel fan what their favourite MCU movie is and very few are likely to say The Incredible Hulk.

Edward Norton was wrong for the title role, so it's easy to see why, but his turn as the Green Goliath brought us one of the series' best deleted scenes to date.

There's an alternative opening to the movie that was nixed, probably because it was darker than a midwinter night in Gotham City.

A tortured Bruce Banner heads off to an icy wasteland to shoot himself in the head, but the suicide attempt is botched when he suddenly transforms into the big guy.

And for added awesomeness, eagle-eyed fans will have spotted Captain America's shield on ice in the background, foreshadowing his debut in The First Avenger.

Bruce's attempt to end his life is later referenced in the Avengers, so that scene appears to have remained canon despite ending up on the cutting room floor.
