Kicking off the list is this 1996 character driven period drama which is a double whammy for Doctor Who fans as they get two Time Lords for the price of one. Well, sort of. While the film stars Christopher Eccleston as its protagonist Jude Fawley, a self-educated stonemason who embarks on an affair with his suffragette cousinSue Bridehead, played by Academy Award winner Kate Winslet, Tenth Doctor David Tennant also pops up in one scene, in the reputable role of an unnamed drunk undergraduate, so there's literally nothing not to love. Especially if you enjoy horrifying tragedy, which this has buckets of. You're welcome.
