If heartwarming tales about Peruvian bears aren't quite your cup of tea, you're probably more inclined to a good old fashioned ghost story, and this one really is a haunting humdinger. The 2001 supernatural thriller, set in the immediate aftermath of World War Two, stars Nicole Kidman as Grace Stewart, a woman living in a darkened old house with her two photosensitive children who convinces herself that her family home is being invaded by a paranormal force. To say anything else would give it away but the drama is so intense that you'll breathe a huge sigh of relief when the familiar face of Ninth Doctor Christopher Eccleston returns from battle as her husband, Charles. As with all good mysteries, though, not everything is at it seems. You'll be on tenterhooks throughout!
