Zero Dark Thirty is a gritty and brutal depiction of a dark period in US history. It tells the story of the decade-long manhunt for the al-Qaeda terrorist leader Osama bin Ladin from the initial September 11th attack, up until his eventual demise.
Kathryn Bigelow was the perfect choice to direct such a film, as she has proved time and time again that her ability to bring military conflict to the screen in a harrowing manner is unbeatable. Her movies always present the issue less like an action flick, and more a hardened war drama that gives you all the information unapologetically.
Pratt delivers a solid outing here and is backed up by an unbelievably dense cast of actors. The fact that he manages to stand out well amongst names like Jessica Chastain, Jason Clarke, Mark Strong and many more prove how much he has changed since his humble days in the Parks and Rec department.
