10 Best Music Sequences In The Shrek Films
2. Shrek and Fiona's Honeymoon (Accidentally In Love - Counting Crows)
Although Up has the crown for one of the most heartfelt montages of all time, Shrek 2 opens with undoubtedly the funniest opening montage of all time with a glimpse into Shrek and Fiona's honeymoon.
This montage set to Counting Crows Accidentally In Love, is filled with hilarious movie parodies and sets the scene perfectly to allow the audience to pick up where they left off with Shrek and Fiona's blossoming romance.
The parodies include Fiona's ring falling onto her finger from out of the sky from Lord Of The Rings, Shrek and Fiona engaging in a passionate kiss on the beach (From Here To Eternity) only for the waves to knock Fiona off of Shrek and replace her with Ariel from The Little Mermaid and, whilst escaping some angry villagers.
Finally, Shrek is caught upside down in a trap with has his face covered in mud. Whilst upside down, Fiona brushes the mud away from Shrek's face and they kiss which is a parody to the famous Spiderman kiss between Toby Maguire and Kirsten Dunst.
The montage concludes with a romantic embrace between the two in front of a full moon as the song fades out. Perfection.
