2. Free Bird - Kingsmen
Going against the conventional spy thriller tropes, Kingsmen was a cinematic shock to the system back in 2014. Along with casually poking fun at contemporaries like James Bond, the film was a breath of fresh air for anyone who needed a no-nonsense action film. Even though many scenes show great fighting choreography and instrumental scores, it doesn't get better than the Church Fight with "Free Bird" by Lynyrd Skynyrd leading the way.
Coming just as mastermind Valentine enacts his SIM chips to commence the slaughter, "Free Bird" enters for the perfect hell-raising accompaniment. As Colin Firth's Harry succumbs to the chip's function, the Church he was staking out quickly erupts into mayhem, as each member tries feverishly to murder those around them. "Free Bird" was always a more stately ballad, but the star of the tune was always the ending guitar solos from the band's three-guitar attack.
The scene starts with the guitar solo as Harry proceeds to completely annihilate the rest of the room with robot-like precision, taking out the congregation left and right with everything from gunfire to knife wielding to even candle impaling. While there is more than enough action to go around, "Free Bird" turns the endless amount of carnage on screen into an absolute blast to watch.
