10 Best Robin Williams Performances Of All Time

3. Genie - Aladdin (1992)

Robin Williams Good Morning Vietnam
Disney

There's no role that better uses Robin Williams' eccentric and erratic comedy style than his instantly memorable turn as the Genie in Disney's classic adventure Aladdin.

Aladdin may be about the titular character's romance with royal princess Jasmine and their clash with power-mad antagonist Jafar, but the one thing the film will always be most remembered for is Williams' extremely hilarious and motor-mouthed portrayal of the scene-stealing Genie.

Fast-talking, ad-libbing and charming, the Genie finds Williams at his most hysterically uncaged and excitable, but the true power of his performance lies in how well he injects genuine depth and humanity to the otherwise unbelievable figure.

Aladdin is a sweet and truly timeless movie, and one that has a lot working for it, but without Williams firing on all cylinders there's no way it would have been as big a hit as it was - and still is.
