10 Best Sci-Fi Movie Endings Of All Time

7. Back To The Future

Back to the Future is quite possibly a perfect movie. It has a great time-travel concept at its core that's nice and simple, a bunch of wacky yet lovable characters, and some of the most quotable dialogue of 20th-century cinema.

After his mad adventure back in time, Marty (Michael J. Fox) ensures his parents still fall in love and in doing so, guarantees his very existence. Things are even better than when he left, with his parents in a much happier marriage, and his dream car sitting in the garage.

Cue Doc Brown (Christopher Lloyd) blasting onto the driveway in the DeLorean, dressed like a futuristic lunatic and shoving banana peels into the cars new 'Mr. Fusion Home Energy Reactor' for fuel to go "back to the future" as somethings "gotta be done" about their kids. After having a whale of a time with Marty and Doc Brown in 1955, the thought of going to the future and seeing the next generation of the McFly family was an exciting prospect.

It gets even better when Marty says they won't have enough road to reach the 88mph required to time-travel, with Doc responding in one of the most famous final lines in the history of cinema; "Roads? Where we're going we don't need roads."
