4. Eric Draven - The Crow
Warning - this one is going to get quite sad.
Starring Brandon Lee (the son of legendary martial arts actor Bruce Lee) as Eric Draven, this film is a 1994 action movie about a musician brought back from the dead to avenge his and his girlfriend's murders.
Based on the comic book of the same name, The Crow starts with Draven's character already dead at the hands of a violent gang. With the help of a supernatural bird, Draven uses his newfound invulnerability to wage war against those who took everything from him.
The sad irony surrounding The Crow is that, whilst filming the opening scene where his character gets shot, Lee suffered a genuine bullet wound to the stomach. This horrific accident led to Lee's untimely death at the age of just 28.
This real-life tragedy and its mirroring of the fictionalised events of the film created an aura around The Crow that still persists today.
Whilst Lee's death and lack of safety protocols surrounding it dominate conversation about the film, it's important to remember that he was a brilliant actor and The Crow should have been the start of big things for him.
