10 Big Actors Who Are Skipping Movies In 2018

3. Emma Watson

Next Movie: TBA

After ruling 2017 with Beauty And The Beast (and stinking it up with The Circle), it's surprising that Emma Watson's turn as Belle hasn't landed her more work in big studio blockbusters.

Because on the whole, Watson has had the strongest post-Potter career out of the trio of main wizards. She was great in The Perks Of Being A Wallflower, The Bling Ring, My Week With Marilyn, and Noah, and now - with the $1.2 billion in box-office receipts she racked up last year - you'd expect her to have a jam-packed schedule ahead.

But she doesn't; Watson has no movies scheduled for 2018 and beyond. It's strange that a talented, prolific leading lady doesn't have a single project lined up, and all things considered, her 2018 absence is hard to explain.

But don't expect her to be gone for too long. Beauty And The Beast proved she can lead a blockbuster outside the Harry Potter universe, and since movie-making is primarily a business, this is a trait studio executives are desperate for.

Danny has been with WhatCulture for over ten years, and is currently Doctor Who Editor and WhoCulture Channel Manager, overseeing all of WhatCulture's Whoniverse coverage. In 2022, he took charge of WhoCulture and has grown it into the biggest Doctor Who channel on YouTube, and one of the biggest Doctor Who communities on the web full-stop. He has been writing and video editing since his early teens, and first got a taste for content creation after making his own Doctor Who trailers, off the back of a burning obsession with the Matt Smith era of the show. Like many his age, he first got into Doctor Who with the 2005 revival, but has since gone back and fallen in love with the classic years too. If you need someone to recite every Doctor Who episode in order, or to give you a random factoid about the making of Gridlock, Danny is the person to ask!
