10 Big Actors Who Are Skipping Movies In 2018

Next Movie: Bond 25 (2019)

It's no secret that Daniel Craig's long stint at MI6 has both tired and frustrated him in equal measure (he said he'd rather slash his wrists than play Bond ever again) so it honestly isn't surprising to learn that he's taking some time off in order to rest up for his final turn as 007.

Craig was last seen in the superb Logan Lucky, playing a character that's about as far away from the smooth-talking, well-mannered Bond as it's possible to get, and another recent film of his, Kings, hit the festival circuit in 2017, but doesn't yet have a wide release date - so most of us won't see him at all this year.

The point is, he's been busy lately, and considering how much preparation goes into making a Bond movie - diet and exercise, stunt training, rigorous screen tests - he's wisely kept his upcoming schedule as free as possible.

Anyway, it's not like he needs the money (the 00-dollar he earned on Spectre would have been enough to last him a few years). We'll next see Craig in Bond 25, where, yes, he'll earn another gigantic paycheque.

Danny has been with WhatCulture for almost nine years, and is currently Doctor Who Editor and WhoCulture Channel Manager, overseeing all of WhatCulture's Whoniverse coverage. He has been writing and video editing for 10+ years, and first got a taste for content creation after making his own Doctor Who trailers and uploading them to YouTube (they're admittedly a bit rusty by today's standards). If you need someone to recite every Doctor Who episode in order or to tell you about the making of 1988's Remembrance of the Daleks, Danny is the person to ask.
