10 Big Movie Franchises Chris Pratt Can Try Next

5. Alien 5

With Ripley and Hicks back for the next installment in the long-running Alien franchise, audiences are hopeful that Alien 5 will recapture the highs of Alien and Aliens. Neill Blomkamp already released some thrilling concept images for his entry weeks before the sequel was announced and while it looks epic, it also teases a dark and gritty storyline that will push these characters to their very limits.

A lighter comic edge might be needed to balance this. Aliens managed horror, drama and comic moments perfectly with its band of marines. If Hicks was the courageous, reserved leader then Bill Paxton's Hudson was the class clown, providing some much needed laughs before his death.

Interestingly, Blomkamp has teased a return for Hudson in Alien 5, though how he gets round the whole death by horde of aliens and nuclear explosion on LV246 will be quite the challenge. If Blomkamp wants to recapture that magic, look no further than Chris Pratt. He has boundless comic talent and his portrayed many heroic characters on the big screen, proving he has the experience to play a fellow marine.

The Alien franchise looks set to make a stunning comeback if Blomkamp gets this film right. If the series is going to have a new lease of life, then Pratt could be the man to herald the passing of the torch from Sigourney Weaver for Alien 6 and beyond.
