10 Big Movies That Suffered Even Bigger Disasters Whilst Being Made
3. Back To The Future 2 And 3
The Back To The Future franchise has remained a much loved classic trilogy even today, starring Michael J Fox and Christopher Lloyd as time travelling duo Marty and Doc, adamant they must save their past, present and future.
It is no word of a lie that creators Robert Zemeckis and Bob Gale suffered a variety of problems whilst filming, most commonly the move from protagonist actors in the first movie that set them back by months of production.
But that wasn't all as the franchise continued. In the second movie, a special effect first was achieved on screen as Marty visits his future and we witness the actor play a variety of roles along with co-star Lea Thompson to achieve the look of many family members round the dinner table. Whilst halfway through the production, an earthquake shook the set overnight, leaving many of the set pieces in different places - a disaster for continuity when achieving the green screen effect.
In the third movie, the bad luck didn't finish there, as antagonist 'Mad Dog' Tannen hung Marty across the beams of the Hill Valley square. Fox actually passed out whilst this scene was filmed, calling the crew's attention after they realised he was not acting anymore.
