6. CW's Wonder Woman Show Not Happening

DC and the CW have struck quite the partnership when it comes to bringing their comic book characters to life on television. Smallville was a smashing success, enjoying a ten season run, and Arrow quickly followed (garnering more popularity and critical acclaim that Smallville maintained). That show has quickly given way to a Flash spinoff, which just got a pilot order and will hopefully air later this year. They're also working on shows for Hourman and iZombie as well, and up until this week, were hoping to bring Wonder Woman to the small screen. With Wonder Woman currently busy on the big screen alongside Batman and Superman (more on that later), it makes sense that a TV show featuring the Amazonian princess would be put on hold. CW President Mark Pedowitz told The Hollywood Reporter on Wednesday that they "did not go forward" with the show, which was supposed to be an origin story of Wonder Woman's alter ego, Diana of Themyscira. This is probably the best move (for now), since all eyes will be on Zack Snyder to bring the character to the big screen, and as it seems DC's TV and movie universes aren't connected, having two versions of the character in development at the same time would be confusing to casual viewers. Pedowitz isn't against the idea of making a Wonder Woman show, and has said that he'd be willing to take another shot at it if the right material were to come his way.
