2. Matt Damon And Paul Greengrass Returning To The Bourne Franchise

After much back-and-forth negotiating, it's finally official: Matt Damon is returning to the Bourne franchise. And not only that... he's bringing director Paul Greengrass with him! Greengrass, who directed The Bourne Supremacy and The Bourn Ultimatum, always said that he wouldn't return to the series, and Damon always said that he wouldn't until Greengrass committed to it. So, it's great to see that they were both able to come to an understanding and return. Oddly, this will not be a team-up featuring Jason Bourne and The Bourne Legacy's Aaron Cross (played by Jeremy Renner). Universal is hoping to keep going with two Bourne franchises at once, one starring Damon, the other starring Renner. Damon's film will come first, on July 16, 2016, while Renner's film has been put on the back burner for now. Which, after the mildly disappointing Bourne Legacy, is okay with us.
