3. Supergirl TV Series Lands At CBS

Earlier this month, we got word that The Flash producer Greg Berlanti was shopping a Supergirl TV series to various networks with his frequent collaborator Ali Adler (No Ordinary Family). According to Deadline, their efforts were not in vain, as the show has landed a series commitment at CBS, after only a day of pitches. The Supergirl deal reportedly "eclipses the commitment DC Batman drama Gotham got at Fox last fall," meaning we'll likely see the Last Daughter of Krypton on screen for a while. Unlike the CW Superman series Smallville, which focused on Clark Kent's 10-year journey to becoming the Man of Steel, Supergirl will pick up right when his cousin, Kara Zor-El, sets out on her own to become a superheroine. Here's the description Deadline provided: €œBorn on the planet Krypton, Kara Zor-El escaped amid its destruction years ago. Since arriving on Earth, she€™s been hiding the powers she shares with her famous cousin. But now at age 24, she decides to embrace her superhuman abilities and be the hero she was always meant to be.€ Now the only question is, which Hollywood starlet will don the iconic "S"?
