4. Halloween 2018 - Where Has Michael Myers Been All These Years?
David Gordon Green and Danny McBride's plans to soft reboot Halloween include ignoring the 10 movies which took place since Halloween II, throwing out their lore and all of the characters that came with it.
So in this new timeline, the last time Michael Myers was seen, he went up in flames in the first sequel's explosive finale, over three decades ago in series chronology.
Presumably his body was never recovered from the hospital's torched wreckage, but the new Halloween movie still has to explain where the masked maniac has been all these years. More than 30 years is a heck of a lot of time to just write off.
Perhaps it would be more scary if Michael simply emerged from the shadows to haunt Laurie Strode again after all that time, but the movie still needs to come up with a compelling reason to explain why he chose now to return to Haddonfield to finish what he started in the late '70s.
