10 Biggest Questions Surrounding Upcoming Movies

4. Who's Going To Be The Next Thanos? (Avengers 5)

Thanos Infinity War
Disney

The first ten years of the MCU was all about Thanos and the Infinity Stones. Each new movie filled in another piece of the puzzle, culminating in the epic two-part conclusion that was Infinity War and Endgame.

But for Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige, now isn't the time to bask in the afterglow - now is the time to replicate the success of the Infinity Saga all over again.

So far, his sophomore act is off to a cracking start. WandaVision, The Falcon And The Winter Soldier, and Loki are all fantastic in their own unique ways, setting up many interesting stories for this next phase of the MCU. But there's one important question that has yet to receive a definitive answer: who, if anyone, is going to be the next Thanos?

Assuming that Feige follows a similar model to the Infinity Saga, the MCU is going to need a new over-arching villain that the Avengers can fight in another Endgame-sized conclusion. Right now, the popular candidate among fans is Kang The Conqueror - who is confirmed to appear in Ant-Man 3 - but it's still too early to tell.

Depending on how Doctor Strange 2 plays out, the next big MCU villain could literally be the multiverse, or a multiversal war. Perhaps Feige isn't interested in taking "the Thanos approach" this time around - and the multiverse would be a compelling way to spice things up.

He has been writing and video editing for 10+ years, and first got a taste for content creation after making his own Doctor Who trailers and uploading them to YouTube (they're admittedly a bit rusty by today's standards). If you need someone to recite every Doctor Who episode in order or to tell you about the making of 1988's Remembrance of the Daleks, Danny is the person to ask.
