10 Bizarre Movie Moments You Just Accepted

1. Legolas’ Eyes Keep Changing Colour - The Lord Of The Rings

Whilst filming Peter Jackson's epic Lord of the Rings trilogy, Legolas actor Orlando Bloom wasn't said to be the biggest fan of the contact lenses he was required to wear when bringing this warrior elf to life (via Collider).

In fact, the blue contacts that covered his naturally brown eyes did so much damage to them, he could only don them for short spells. And that's precisely why the Fellowship of the Ring member's eyeballs appear to change colour on a number of occasions throughout the Middle-earth story.

There are certainly more than a few moments when the mighty elven archer can be seen sporting a set of piercing blue orbs. However, they seem noticeably darker during scenes like his conversation with Aragorn within Helm's Deep in The Two Towers.

By the time Bloom returned for The Hobbit trilogy, though, Jackson and co. were able to consistently slap some pale blue eyes onto Legolas, avoiding any other inconsistent eyeball moments that you were likely too busy counting the Orc murderer's kills to catch in the first place.
